I love Christmas

Every year, the anticipation of Christmas is still there, not as strong as it used to be, but it is still there. The years I have to work Christmas Day really take away from the anticipation. Today, I received a text from my manager. She asked me to work Sunday and be off Tuesday. Christmas Day!! I was happy about that, I said YES!! right away! I have been blessed to have extra weekends off from time to time and this past weekend was one of them. I will be happy to work Sunday to have Christmas Day off. That means I get to spend Christmas with my family this year! The past 2 Christmases have been a little sad without Rick. This year is too, but it is a little better this year. The babies help with that. Tobi is old enough this year to have a little anticipation about Santa coming. She was trying to sing "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" Sunday. It was so cute. I love my babies!

I did not send out Christmas cards this year. I have sent cards - lots of cards for 28 years. Last year and the year before, I only sent a few. This year, I didn't send any. Don't mean to hurt anyone's' feelings. It is simply too difficult to write just my name and not Rick. Or my name and Nick's. I do appreciate all the cards we have received and the pictures that come in them, too. Maybe next year it will be easier to send cards, time will tell.  I do wish each of you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

I love all y'all!

Luke 2
King James Version (KJV)
And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed.(And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.)And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city. And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child. And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

  1. I am glad that you are going to be able to have Christmas Day off from work. When I worked retail, it was always hard to plan family gatherings around my schedule. Now it is the kids' schedules that are difficult to work with. My daughter works two retail jobs and one of my nephew works nights.
